Val di Fiemme is also great for cycling. Get out and explore with fresh air in your face, whizz along the cycle path or go in search of adrenalin on the trails… the scenic backdrop will do the rest.

Fiemme and Fassa cycle path

The cycle path connecting Val di Fassa and Val di Fiemme winds for almost 40 km, through woods and dense fir and larch forests. The road largely traces the route of the Marcialonga track and the route of the Ora–Predazzo railway.

The majestic Latemar and Catinaccio Dolomites provide the backdrop. Cyclists are guided along the entire length of the route by the flowing water of the Avisio river, which originates from the Marmolada glacier.

Tour of Val di Fiemme

A moderately easy route that winds through the entire Val di Fiemme, passing through most of its villages. This tour leads through distinctive parts of the valley which are historically rich in local traditions.

The itinerary does not have any particular difficulty, and will allow you to appreciate the valley in all its breadth. It winds through highly varied terrain, from asphalt to dirt roads, fields to cobblestones.

Tour of Latemar

A complete itinerary, full of breathtaking views of the Latemar and Catinaccio Dolomites. The section riding alongside the crystal-clear Lake Carezza, a pearl set among fir forests, is truly unforgettable. The route winds its way through alpine pastures and charming lodges, lush meadows and forests, all with the Dolomites dominating the skyline. The ski lifts make it possible to overcome much of the difference in altitude.

Since October 2018, in the aftermath of Storm Vaia, there are large open spaces which can also be ridden across.

Firebreak path

This route runs along “firebreaks”, the roads built to prevent the spread of fires in the forest, with short but demanding climbs through the woods behind the villages.

The Fiemme Astronomical Observatory building is a spectacular sight. With its telescope always pointed at the sky, it dominates the final clearing before you descend into Tesero’s central piazza.

Lake Cece

Route on a forest road with an almost constant gradient, except for a few steeper uphill sections. The Lagorai mountain chain is made especially charming by its wild and rarely visited locations.

Lake Cece is no exception, and the route to it is absolutely fascinating. Near the lake there is a typical mountain lodge which is always open, and a table with two benches making for an ideal picnic spot.

Val di Stava

A route that highlights lesser-known places in Val di Fiemme, such as Val di Stava and the pastures near Varena. The ski lifts takes you to the scenic starting point at an altitude of 2,121 metres.

The route transports you to completely different scenery in just a few kilometres: from the heights of Passo Feudo, to the foot of the UNESCO Dolomites Latemar massif, to the silent, relaxing, green meadows of Guagiola.

Val Venegia - Segantini

This beautiful route crosses one of the most emblematic valleys in the area. Most of the route follows a dirt road along the Val Venegia, until reaching one of the best known tourist locations in the Dolomites, the Segantini lodge.

From this prime vantage point at an altitude of 2,200 metres, the vertical mountain sides of the Pale di San Martino can be admired in all their splendour.

“The Old Railway”

The excitement of cycling along the route of the former railway that once connected Ora station to Predazzo. It was built for wartime purposes during World War I and was maintained until 1963, also bringing the first tourists to the valley.

The route is varied, transitioning from cycle paths to dirt roads, from woods to apple orchards and vineyards, through tunnels and along viaducts.
